In the Ars Goetia he appears as Asmoday, the Thirty-Second Spirit: a Great King commanding seventy-two legions. He teaches arithmetic, astronomy, geometry and handicrafts. He gives true and full answers, reveals hidden treasure and guards it, grants the mysterious Ring of Virtues, and the old text gives him one of its bluntest offices:

He makes one invincible.

👑 MEET ASMODEUS

Asmodeus has one of demonology’s longest lives.

In the Book of Tobit he appears as the demon attached to Sarah and the destruction surrounding her marriages. In the Testament of Solomon he is tied even more strongly to dangerous desire and passions capable of overruling judgment.

Centuries later, the Goetic Asmoday appears differently:

a King.

The Goetia is direct: Asmoday shows where treasure lies and guards it.

His wealth current is concealed value.

Asmodeus asks:

Where is the value already present that nobody has recognized?

And once it is found, can you keep it?

🐉 THE THREE-HEADED KING

The old image of Asmoday is magnificent.

Three heads: bull, man and ram. A serpent’s tail. Fire from the mouth. Webbed feet. An infernal dragon beneath him. A lance and banner.

This is not the polished fallen prince of modern fantasy.

The old image is stranger: mass, force, intelligence and danger carried beneath one banner.

Power is not one quality.

It is several forces held under one command.

📿 THE PENDANT

A pendant suits Asmodeus exceptionally well.

The Goetia specifically instructs that his seal be worn as a lamen upon the breast.

Carried at the chest, the vessel follows the keeper into business, negotiation, study, craft, romance, competition and important decisions.

The old King is carried into present life.
